As developed in this paper, I develop a Product Space–based approach to comparing exports and imports that provides a finer characterization of trade similarity than conventional measures such as the Grubel–Lloyd index.

 

I provide here the resulting Trade Proximity database, constructed using trade data at multiple levels of product aggregation.
